Featured by Tropicana: Roots Across Generations
How do we create something today that continues to give long after us?
Agartana is honoured to be featured by Tropicana, sharing the story of Jessica Tan, Founder of Heartana Group, and the philosophy behind a living legacy rooted in nature, time and stewardship.
After more than two decades in banking, investment management and corporate advisory, Jessica began looking beyond conventional ideas of value and inheritance.
That journey eventually inspired Heartana Group and Agartana — built around the belief that some of the most meaningful forms of value cannot be rushed. They are cultivated patiently over time. Tropicana Corporation Berhad
More Than a Tree
For Jessica, the agarwood tree carries a particularly meaningful lesson.
Aquilaria forms its treasured aromatic resin through its response to adversity. It is not the challenge itself that creates value, but how the tree responds and transforms over time.
That philosophy has become deeply connected to Agartana's idea of legacy.
Each tree is viewed not simply for its commercial potential, but as a living form of value — carrying environmental, cultural, educational and emotional significance. Tropicana Corporation Berhad
Through Agartana, stewardship becomes part of the journey. A tree can be planted today, cared for through the years, and eventually become part of a family's story across generations.
The Value of Time
Jessica describes this philosophy through the idea of the Time Economy.
Her experience in finance taught her how value grows through compounding. Nature, she believes, teaches a similar lesson: some things simply cannot be rushed.
This long-term perspective extends beyond cultivation. Heartana's broader vision connects nature, culture, wellness, science, agriculture and education, with a commitment to preserving knowledge while creating something meaningful for generations to come. Tropicana Corporation Berhad
At its heart, the story asks a simple question:
What are we growing today that will continue giving tomorrow?
We are grateful to Tropicana for sharing Jessica's journey and the story behind Agartana.
