In an era where legacy is often defined solely by material wealth and traditional assets, Heartana Global Berhad has officially launched the new brand Agartana Guardian Tree, offering a deeper and more meaningful interpretation of generational inheritance. The company also signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to establish strategic partnerships across industry and academia, further elevating the intrinsic value of agarwood.

Centred around the concept of the “Guardian Tree”, Agartana cultivates rare agarwood trees through a refined integration of science and tradition. These trees symbolise the passage of time and the continuity of life, offering a natural gift that can last for generations—even centuries—into the future.

Joint Effort Towards a New Wellness Frontier

At the recent launch event, Heartana Global Berhad signed MoUs with two key industry partners to jointly explore the potential of agarwood in future health and wellness applications. These two companies are AYKANG Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. from Taiwan and Antah Pharma Sdn. Bhd. from Malaysia.

AYKANG Pharmaceutical, a leading name in Taiwan's pharmaceutical sector, focuses on the research and manufacturing of medicinal and health products, and will contribute strong scientific expertise to the study of agarwood applications.
Meanwhile, Antah Pharma, a local pharmaceutical firm, offers services across product marketing, logistics, distribution channel management, and regulatory support, enabling wider market access for agarwood-based wellness products.

The launch was attended by key guests including Heartana founder Tan Yu Li, co-founder Xu Youwen, Master Li Xinwei, AYKANG Pharmaceutical representatives Tseng Shih-Che and Wu Ying-Ying, Antah Pharma executive directors Tengku Mohamad Alauddin and Tengku Alya Munah, as well as Dr Tey Ken Keong, Head of the Department of Chinese Medicine at UTAR and the UTAR Traditional and Complementary Medicine Centre. All gathered to witness the beginning of this milestone collaboration.

Launching Research Collaboration with UTAR

To further advance the scientific exploration of agarwood in wellness and health, Heartana Global Berhad held a ceremonial handover with the Department of Chinese Medicine and the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Centre at UTAR. The company officially donated one kilogram of premium Agartana agarwood to UTAR, marking the starting point of a research collaboration.

This event signifies the formal commencement of joint scientific research, which will focus on the efficacy of agarwood in traditional medicine and wellness applications through a series of clinical trials and studies.

This powerful collaboration underscores Heartana Global Berhad’s broader vision—not only to drive commercial development but also to promote cultural heritage and uncover the deeper value of nature’s gifts.

The launch of the Agartana Guardian Tree represents a new form of legacy, one that transcends material wealth and carries the essence of natural beauty and the rhythm of life across generations.

Tan Yu Li remarked, “The Guardian Tree is more than a symbol—it is a living gift that bears witness to health, legacy, and hope for the future.”

Ky Nam Agarwood: The King of Agarwood, Timeless in Value

The agarwood trees cultivated in the Agartana estate are of the Ky Nam species, also known as Aquilaria Crassna. Revered as the “King of Agarwood”, Ky Nam is prized for its rarity and unique aroma, making it a long-time favourite among royalty, scholars, and perfume connoisseurs.

Each Agartana tree purchased comes with a unique identification number and is tracked through a secure QR code system, ensuring full transparency. Upon adoption, the tree’s health and growth will be professionally managed by the Agartana team, giving peace of mind to every tree guardian.

Agartana’s vision is to revive the rich cultural legacy of agarwood in a modern context, where nature, tradition, and sustainability are deeply intertwined.

A Living Gift for Sustainable Harvest and Generational Legacy

Agarwood harvesting can begin as early as the fifth year after planting. When the time comes, Agartana will assist tree owners in harvesting and packaging the agarwood-rich branches. The main trunk remains rooted, allowing the tree to continue growing.

As the tree ages, the agarwood produced becomes increasingly rich, rare, and valuable—a gift of nature that grows in worth and meaning with time.

Tan Yu Li shared that after 11 years of research and development, Agartana carries a legacy embedded with the memory of time—offering families a natural vessel through which their stories can continue to unfold. “As time passes,” she said, “this legacy deepens, connecting love, heritage, and the essence of life in the most meaningful way.”

She emphasised, “This is not a product—it is a gift of meaning, witnessed through time.”

Each Guardian Tree will gradually accumulate depth, significance, and natural value, eventually transforming into a living heirloom to be passed down through generations.

Agarwood, known as the "Gold of Wood," is one of the rarest and most precious natural aromatic materials in the world.

Since ancient times, agarwood has held an important place in health preservation, religious ceremonies, traditional medicine, and luxury fragrances. Its rich, complex aroma is renowned for calming the mind and aiding meditation, and it possesses significant therapeutic value in traditional Chinese medicine.

As wild agarwood becomes increasingly scarce, sustainable and regulated cultivation methods like those employed by Agartana have gained high recognition from collectors, health enthusiasts, and cultural custodians worldwide, making it a natural asset worthy of preservation and inheritance.

Agartana offers a unique and meaningful way to commemorate significant life moments—whether welcoming a new life or remembering loved ones—by planting agarwood trees that grow with time and record the continuation of life, allowing precious memories and deep emotions to be passed down through generations.

An agarwood tree carries not only the fragrance of time and the warmth of memories but also serves as a precious gift from a family to the future—a profound hope passed down through generations.
