Aikang Pharmaceutical Partners with Heartana Global Berhad Malaysia to Launch the “Agartana Initiative,” Setting a New Milestone for Asia’s Health Industry

Aikang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., with a century-long legacy of centipede oil, visited Malaysia on November 9. Led by husband-and-wife team Zeng Shizhe and Wu Yingying, Aikang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. participated in the grand opening of Agartana Orchard, under Heartana Global Berhad, and officially launched a multinational research and cultural exchange program.
Agartana Orchard is currently the largest agarwood plantation in Malaysia, with over 16,000 rare Ky Nam (Aquilariac Crassna) trees. Known as the “King of Agarwood,” this highly prized species requires 5 to 6 years to naturally produce resin. Agartana employs natural oxidation and sustainable ecological techniques, allowing the trees to form resin without being harmed, reflecting the philosophy of “coexistence of ecology and fragrance.”
The orchard notes that agarwood can first be harvested five years after planting. The team assists tree owners in collecting and preserving resin-rich branches, while the main trunks continue to grow and root deeply into the earth—symbolizing “sustained fragrance, enduring life.”

The grand opening ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of political and business leaders, corporate representatives, and media from various sectors. Invited guests Zeng Shizhe and Wu Yingying, representing Aikang Pharmaceutical, joined Heartana Global Berhad co-founders Jeremy Khor and Jessica Tan, as well as Antah Pharma Executive Directors Tunku Mohd Alaudin and Tunku Alia Munah, to sign a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), officially launching a program for research and cross-border collaboration.
“Agarwood is not only a gift of nature but also an art of time,” said Wu Yingying. She emphasized that both Aikang Pharmaceutical and Heartana Global Berhad believe the essence of legacy is not in how much one owns, but in how long one is willing to protect it. Every agarwood tree in the orchard represents the continuation of love and life. Following the MOU, the partners plan to actively explore applications of agarwood in health and wellness, emotional regulation, traditional Chinese medicine, and aromatherapy, as well as to promote product development and shared research data.
Heartana Global Berhad founder Jessica Tan also highlighted that “agarwood is a gift that bears witness to time.” She explained that the name Agartana combines Agar (agarwood) and Tana (earth, life), symbolizing “rooted in the earth, fragrance passed through generations.” The brand’s core concept, the Guardian Tree, represents each agarwood tree as a blessing and the continuation of life. In the future, Agartana plans to launch cultural experiences, Guardian Tree adoption programs, premium agarwood fragrance and wellness products, curated agarwood exhibitions, and public art collaborations, bringing agarwood culture closer to people’s daily lives.

Apart from signing the MOU, another highlight of the opening ceremony was the establishment of a partnership between Heartana Global Berhad and the local Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), launching a collaborative program for agarwood research and cultural promotion. High-quality agarwood from Agartana Orchard was donated as academic research material, officially opening a new chapter of cross-disciplinary agarwood studies.
Following their visit to Agartana Orchard, Zeng Shizhe and Wu Yingying both expressed their admiration for the orchard and pledged that Aikang Pharmaceutical will deepen research on agarwood in functional foods and wellness products, harnessing its fragrance as a new force for health and wellbeing.
