Agartana by Heartana Global Berhad: Cultivating Living Heirlooms for Lasting Prosperity.

"Heritage" is humanity’s destiny and a core virtue and mission of the Chinese nation. When people think of inheritance or tangible assets passed to future generations, they often imagine gold, silver, or ancestral estates. The birth of the "Guardian Tree" (Agartana) redefines this concept of generational legacy.
Agartana, created by Heartana Global Berhad, is a fragrant agarwood tree designed to be passed down through generations, bringing blessings and symbolising protection. It combines traditional wisdom with modern science, offering a living legacy that can accompany families for centuries.

On June 21, Heartana Global Berhad held a grand brand launch for Agartana. During her speech, founder Chen Yuli said, “The agarwood tree is a remarkable natural wonder—it heals itself by releasing resin when injured, becoming even more valuable. It’s like a person who gains greater life experience through challenges.”
She added, “‘Guardian Tree’ is more than a symbol; it is a living gift that bears witness to health, heritage, and hope for the future.”
“After eleven years of development, Agartana carries a legacy with the memory of time, providing a natural vessel for family stories to continue and deepen over the years. It connects love, heritage, and life in the most profound way. This is not a product, but a meaningful gift shaped by time.”

Guests attending the launch included Heartana Global Berhad co-founder Xu Youwen, Lee Xinwei, founder of the Guangda Mind-Body Education Centre, Ay Kang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. General Manager Zeng Shizhe and his wife Wu Yingying, Antah Pharma Sdn Bhd Executive Director Tunku Mohamed Alaudin and his wife Tunku Aliya, as well as Dr. Zheng Jianqiang, Head of UTAR’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Department.
Chen Yuli expressed her hope that the Agartana tree becomes a family’s life landmark — more than just a plant, it is a time-honoured gift carrying health, hope, and love. She highlighted that the eleven-year research focused on the rare Ky Nam agarwood (Aquilaria Crassna), known as the "King of Agarwood."
“We cultivate agarwood using stable genetic techniques without chemicals, achieving fragrance formation from the bark to the core,” she explained.

In her speech, Lee Xinwei said that the Agartana tree represents the corporate soul of Heartana Global Berhad and its founders. She added that this idea of spreading kindness and ensuring generational inheritance perfectly embodies the spirit of "Passing down agarwood, prosperity forever."

At the brand launch event, Heartana Global Berhad signed memorandums of understanding with two key partners in the pharmaceutical sector, officially beginning their exploration of agarwood’s potential in health and wellness. The partners include Taiwan’s renowned Aykang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., specialising in the research and manufacture of health supplements and medicines, and Malaysia’s local company Antah Pharma Sdn Bhd, which focuses on market strategy, distribution management, and product registration services.

To further advance agarwood research, Heartana Global Berhad donated one kilogram of premium Agartana agarwood to UTAR’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Department and Traditional and Complementary Medicine Centre as the starting point for future collaborative research. This gesture not only marks the official partnership between academia and industry but also paves the way for a series of clinical and fundamental studies to explore agarwood’s potential in traditional medicine and modern healthcare.
Overview of Agartana Guardian Trees

Agarwood, long revered as the "gold of wood," is one of the rarest and most precious natural fragrant materials on Earth. It holds significant value in religious ceremonies, traditional therapies, and luxury perfumery. Known for its rich and delicate aroma, agarwood is renowned for its calming and soothing effects, often used in meditation and wellness practices.
The Agartana tree estate is located in Sungai Daun, Kedah, covering 20 acres and plans to plant up to 36,000 agarwood trees, with 10,000 trees available for public adoption. Each tree is assigned a unique identification number and registered securely via a QR code system. Trees that are adopted will be carefully nurtured by a professional horticulture team, managing everything from fertilisation to pest control to ensure healthy growth.
